Many thousands have made the journey to the Orthodox Christian Church from varied backgrounds. It is a positive journey, not running away from something, but towards something. Not only do individuals convert, but clergy, parishes and denominations across America for the past 20+ years have been converting on a regular basis. This will only continue.
Because Orthodoxy is so misunderstood in America, at times it can be a lonely and difficult pilgrimage sometimes filled with spiritual warfare.
Remember our Lord’s words,
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it. (Matt 13:44-46)
If the Gospel is worth anything, it is worth everything. There is a big price in converting, and for each and everyone it is different. But for everyone the reward is great.
